  • Side-streams - typical examples :

Broken beans, stained beans, black pepper skins & deoiled, spent spices, fruit pomaces, seeds and akenes are obvious ones. But you might be curious to know how we have found these gems as waste of some industries too. Wasting them is nonsense. We can’t keep wasting thousands of tons of such resources.

Job Description

  • Job & mission :

You will be our next Product Manager. We visited many manufacturing sites to confirm there is indeed something big to do. Now, it’s confirmed that it is ready to grow, and grow big. We are now developing teams of experts to do it way bigger, way faster, and way better than ever before. So we want you to turn the sourced by-products into competitive ready-to-sell ingredients.  

We feel that we are doing something huge, but we are at the beginning of it. This is a unique opportunity to take responsibility from the beginning, and push it with no limits. 

Working closely with the Global Category Manager, your day to day will be more or less as follow : 

  • Maintain a high level of knowledge on local and international food regulations and latest news, and anticipate global business trends.

  • Employ your food science knowledge to nurture the new ingredients, explore new applications, and define marketing strategies to generate business perspectives.  

  • Identify and activate the best manufacturing partners to transform our byproducts.

  • Hunt for market info and break down the value chain to propose the best price positioning

  • Support Sales Teams by being the technical expert on ingredients specificities using main Unique Selling Points and answering customers technical questions.

  • Feed the team with data to help taking the right decision fast

  • Coordinates the internal stake holders to develop timely each new product and grow all confirmed products business size

We expect you to manage projects around your category portfolio, to animate and develop the “ready to sell value”, and be impactful on the persons you will be working with. As a Product Manager, you will be the cornerstone of our activity, transforming the rough gems spotted by our Sourcing team into high-quality ready to sell ingredients for our Sales team. You can count on us to push you to deliver the best version of yourself. And we expect you to push us to become a better version of Hubcycle. We will always care about your opinion & vision on the market. 

  • The team around you : 

Our organisation allows us to create a pool of talent around you. Reporting to the Global Category Manager you will benefit from his/her expertise within the category, but also from other Product Managers providing you with Tips&Tricks on the job specificities and technicalities.   

You will have close exchanges with Sourcing and Sales teams to help you to understand specificities of their role based on side-streams products.

Preferred Experience

  • Skills needed :

We are looking for someone who will have both-short & long-term impact. Being able to adapt to a start-up is important. 

Fondamental : 

  • Agro Engineering / Food Sciences related education, 

  • At least 4 years of product development and Project Management in the food industry is a must to achieve our goals.

  • Knowledge of the B2B food industry value chain.

  • Ability to explain product technicity and specificities to customers. 

  • Curiosity to hunt for data and market info to support decision making and business opportunities

  • Eagerness to understand food product development challenges. Be bold enough to think out of the box and bring-up new solutions.

  • Experience in successful product development and a very sharp business oriented mind

  • Autonomous, and rigorous, you only see performances through high standards.

  • Fluent in French and English. Any other language is great. 

Bonus : 

  • Circular economy mindset. 

  • Having already developed similar ingredients (based on by-products.) is a huge bonus.

Recruitment Process

  • Conditions :

    Contrat : CDI - Permanent

    Starting date : ASAP.

    Localisation : Based in Avignon (Your chance to live in Provence – France).  

    Home office : 2 days a week maximum, after the first month.

    Salary : from 35k€ to 40k€ gross salary / year + uncapped bonus based on both company and individual results. 

  • The hiring process :  

    First meeting : 30mins, content : Your background, experience & motivation. 

    Second meeting : 60mins, content : Deep dive questions & scorecard. 

    Third meeting : 60mins, content : Management team meeting

    Fourth & last meeting : On site meeting with part of the team
